Last night our pregnant lady, Sharon was craving for burger.. Just because she saw the burger stall after our movie nite out, she suddenly wanted to eat a burger. Memula nak makan megi, pehtu tuko plan polakkk.. So, after our slot ended at 10.30pm, we walked down the aisle hotel and walked for 20 metres to the EE Burger at Pokok Asam to fulfill Sharon's wish. My goodness this is first time to see the OBLONG BURGER that is really-really OBLONG in shape. Hehe.. Somel aje. At first I wanted to try the Double Special Hotdog, but then Pwincess and Sharon saw this Oblong Burger. So, we bought this burger and it was very-very super duper DELICIOUS. And the price is just RM 3.70. Besar bangat burgernya and then the meat was dipped with the black pepper sauce. That had made the burger was so yummy-yummy and tasty.

.... Ni la muka penjual yang malu-malu kucing masa aku snap gambo. Yang mamat macam Chinese ni siap tak bagi aku snap... malu katanya.. Owh....

So, if you plan to go to Langkawi, please spare your time to visit this stall. It is near the Langkasuka hotel and Teow Soon Huat shopping centre (Pokok Asam tauuu..) to be precise. I believe you wont regret it. Dijamin 100% halal and penuh kepuasan. Sodapppp...

Gerai Ijan Burger bersebelahan dengan satu gerai mamak. Kami order burger oblong ayam.. Burger tu berbentuk panjang, tak macam burger bulat yang biasa kita tengok. Aku yer lapar sampai tak teringat nak snap pic. Eheh.. Kalau tak, bolehlah korang tengok.

.... We were told that there is a new brand of Malaysian burger which is threatening Datuk Ramly. The new kid on the block is Datuk Sempoii who chose to differentiate himself by making oblong shaped patties, aptly known as the Oblong Burger. You will notice on the banner that they proudly proclaim that their patties are made of 90% pure meat! Sounds good, but it really makes you wonder what the rest of the 10% is made of. And the other thing is, if they are proud of the fact that they are 90% pure meat, than what percentage of the Ramly pattie is actually meat?

The oblong burger is made much the same way as the Ramly. The patties are first shallow fried in Planta Margarine, then wrapped with an egg and placed on top of a hot dog bun with a generous squeeze of chilli sauce, margarine and BBQ sauce.

Ugly but truly adorable - the Oblong Burger

We were all quite surprised that the burger was even better than the Ramly Burger. The pattie was more beefy than the Ramly burger (90% pure meat remember?) and though it is probably the ugliest burger you will ever get to lay eyes on , MAN IT WAS GOOD! Seriously seriously good. Good enough to risk your life for 10 minutes of sheer pleasure. Seriously.

While they do display a menu of the items they serve, regular patrons revealed that certain surprises are actually not in the list, while others have only been introduced recently. The 'Mutton Oblong Burger' (RM4.80) is one of them. While also available in chicken and beef, we had to try mutton as it was more unusual. To those unfamiliar with oblong burgers, they are similar in shape and size to the famed 'Prosperity Burger' from McDonald's. The burgers are elongated, which means there's more to eat!
